 2024-25 School Tax Bills

The 2024-25 Schenectady City School District school tax bills will be mailed approximately August 1, 2024.

Due dates:

  • Installment 1: September 3, 2024

  • Installment 2: October 31, 2024

  • Installment 3: January 31, 2025

  • Installment 4: April 30, 2025

Please make checks or money orders payable to Schenectady City School District or SCSD. Include 2024-bill number, SBL number on payment, along with the installment stub(s) with payment.

Payments that are directly mailed to the district office may experience processing delays and be subject to late fees. Please be sure to mail to the above address. Payments mailed to the district office will be forwarded to the Albany Tax Processing Unit for posting.

School taxes are paid in four installments (see installment dates listed above and below). Penalties will accrue on late payments. Penalty amounts are shown on each bill.

POSTMARK determines the date of payment.

Please pay the exact amount due. Overpayments and underpayments will delay the processing of your payment. Please review your check carefully before sealing the envelope.

Please check the small box [X] in the upper left-hand corner of your tax stub if you would like a receipt by return mail. After payments are posted (in Albany), receipts will be mailed to taxpayers.

Installment Dates

School taxes are billed annually and may be paid in four installments; installments may be prepaid. Installment due dates:

  • Installment 1: September 3, 2024

  • Installment 2: October 31, 2024

  • Installment 3: January 31, 2025

  • Installment 4: April 30, 2025

Pay Online (Available August 5, 2024)

  • SCSD school taxes can be paid online with credit or debit cards. Please be advised there is a site service fee over and above the amount due to SCSD that goes directly to the third-party processor. Please review your payment carefully before submitting it. Make online payment now (Available August 5)

  • E-check payments are available online at a reduced flat fee of 50 cents per transaction.

Bank is available only in the months of August, October, January, and April. Please bring your bill.

You can access tax bills or receipts online.  Bills printed from a computer WILL be accepted for payment

Prior Year(s) Delinquent Taxes

Please be advised that the 2023-24 Schenectady City School District school tax warrant expired on April 30, 2024. Any 2023-24 school tax remaining unpaid has been turned over to the City or County Treasurer’s Office responsible for collection.

 Please contact the appropriate Collector for exact amount(s) due.

·       Properties located in the City of Schenectady contact City’s Bureau of Receipts: (518) 382-5016.

  • Properties located in the Town of Rotterdam will be turned over to Schenectady County Finance Office: (518) 388-4262.
